Yes the new windows 7 is a much better piece of software than its predecessor, Windows Vista. I think Microsoft is getting the right mix between functionality and practicality. Windows should be windows and not act like apple software.

we have just bought a Dell Computer with windows 7 and I must say that win 7 works very well on the Dell Studio laptop. Even with other programs running the background the Dell computer works with no screen freezes

yes you can choose at the dell computer configuration page. I too did not like the Vista, but I do like the new windows 7. Best bet is to go to the dell website and send them an email with your requirments, Dell are one of the most flexible computer companies out there.

Yes you can choose most windows platforms when choosing your dell computer. I would say that the new windows 7 is nothing like windows vista, I recommend that you give it a whirl. Also by buying from Dell you will probably get the new windows for the best price. Check the dell Australia website for delivery (www.dell.com.au)
